Since 1949, Presbyterians have joined with millions of other Christians through offerings including Peace & Global Witness and One Great Hour of Sharing to share God’s love with people experiencing need. Recognizing that the hope we have in Christ is lived out in our hope for one another, we respond with gifts that help our sisters and brothers around the world find the hope for a brighter future.
We have helped provide assistance to those impacted by earthquakes in Haiti, Chile and Japan, food and shelter to victims of hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and floods in Pakistan. We have helped to rescue refugees in Darfur. We have helped the citizens of central Detroit grow and produce food for the local community in vacant lot gardens. We helped victims of the devastating mud slide in Snohomish County in Washington State. We have helped Bay Area residents develop the tools to thrive in our community. Every year the Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church community has helped answer the prayers of many people around the world.
