Sea of Cortez Kayaking
Sea Kayaking, Camping, Hiking, Snorkeling, Fishing, Christian Reflection
With all the busyness of the Christmas season behind you and the joy of God’s love still within you, travel with us to the Sea of Cortez where we will begin the New Year from a completely different perspective where the stark harshness of the Mexican desert joins the beauty of the emerald sea and deep blue sky. Early in the morning we will set out and for the next several days paddle, play, pray, camp, and rest! This is a leisurely journey of the spirit to a barren yet beautiful part of the world. Times of daily reflection and meditation will fill out our journey. Stunning sunrises, austere terrain, and a rhythm of life set by the cycle of the sea are all a part of the adventure.
The kayaking is easy enough for beginners, the camping is on the remote islands in the inland sea, and the fellowship is rich, with times of study, reflection, and personal pursuits. These pursuits might include anything from snorkeling to hiking to day kayaking to power napping!
Be assured that New Year’s Eve on an island summit is much different from those at home. After a communion of camp-baked bread we might well paddle out into the bay to see the phosphors below and the stars above.
