All-Church "Camp on Campus" :: September 1–2, 2018

Hello Happy Campers!

In the tradition of All-Church Camp, our 56th camp experience, "Camp on Campus," will soon be here! All-Church "Camp on Campus" is a great opportunity to make new connections, strengthen your faith, and enjoy being in fellowship with one another.

An important change this year

We need to let you know that due to ongoing water problems at Redwood Glen, we have made a difficult decision: we will not be holding All-Church Camp at Redwood Glen this year.

The good news is that we have worked with our SVPC pastors and staff to offer a fun and fulfilling family alternative: Camp on Campus!

That is right; instead of driving an hour or more through the mountains, you can enjoy the Labor Day camp experience right here at Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church. The updated event dates are Saturday morning, September 1, through Sunday morning, September 2.

We expect to host many of your favorite camp activities, including;

  • The children's program
  • Inspirational talks by our guest speaker, Rev. Rocky Supinger, followed by small group discussions
  • Organized activities in the afternoon (including games, movie, hikes and bikes)
  • Marshmallow roast and ice cream social
  • The legendary. the stupendous. Talent Show!!!
  • Music and singalongs
  • Great food
  • Optional overnight sleeping-bag "camping", for those so inclined
  • Church service on Sunday morning

Having "Camp on Campus" also gives us several advantages:

  • No rushing home from work on Friday evening
  • No long drive
  • Did you forget something? Go home and get it!
  • Kids need a nap? Take a break in the afternoon!
  • You still have Monday to recover from everything

"Camp on Campus" lets us include more of the church family in this amazing experience. Did grandma always miss little Timmy in the Talent Show? Not this year!

And here's the best news of all: All costs for "Camp on Campus" will be absorbed by the church. There will be no fees for reservations, activities or food. Campers who have already paid will have their payments refunded.

We realize that some of you may decide to make other Labor Day plans because of this change. For that reason, we wanted to let you know as soon as possible. But for those of you who can help and volunteer, we will absolutely need your energy and enthusiasm to make this event a success.

The speaker for this year's camp

Rev. Rocky Supinger, Associate Pastor at Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago, will be our guest speaker. Rocky will lead us in thought-provoking and faith-building conversations. This year Rocky will be speaking to both adults and youth. Rocky serves as a youth pastor and will create a great program that is relevant to all ages.
