Journey of Healing: Victim to Survivor to Victor
Wednesday, May 23, 7 p.m., Fellowship Hall

Father Michael LapsleyFather Michael Lapsley, a former South African anti-apartheid activist, turned personal tragedy into a call for peace and forgiveness. In 1990 Father Lapsley received a parcel containing a bomb. He lost both hands and one eye and received serious burns. He says, "The journey of healing is to move from being a victim to a survivor to a victor, to take back agency. I realized that if I was filled with hatred and bitterness and desire for revenge, they would have failed to kill the body, but they would have killed the soul."

Father Lapsley's work with Institute for Healing of Memories recently took him to Thailand and Myanmar. Hear his story and thoughts on the healing of hurtful memories.

Free child care is available for this event by reservation only no later than May 16. To reserve child care, send your RSVP to .

This program is sponsored by SVPC’s Presbyterian Women. All are welcome to attend.
