SVPC All-Church Camp September 2 - 5, 2016

Hello Happy Campers!

Our 54th All-Church Camp will soon be here! All-Church Camp is a great opportunity to make new connections, strengthen your faith, and enjoy being in fellowship with one another.

Pastor Dave Rohrer, head of staff at Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Bothell, Washington will be our guest speaker. Dave will lead us in thought-provoking and faith-building conversations. A separate youth speaker will lead discussions with our Junior and Senior high school students.

All-Church Camp features fun activities for all ages and interests! Children will encounter lots of surprises during their morning program. Our music team will lead us in worshiping God in song. The weekend will also feature many sporting activities including hiking, cycling, swimming, archery, and horseshoes. You can even enjoy campfires, crafts, reading, napping and an ice cream social, among other activities. There will be ample opportunity to spend time together or take time on your own to reflect in nature. All are welcome to share a special “talent” at the All-Camp Talent Show on Sunday night! All talents receive applause!

First-time Campers at All-Church Camp: Be sure to attend the New Camper’s Breakfast provided for you free of charge on Saturday morning. You will be contacted by our New Camper Director and information will also be included in First-time Camper packets at camp.

Prior to camp, you will receive the following:

Meals can be purchased through Redwood Glen at registration, or you may bring your meals to camp. Erin is the new food service director at Redwood Glen. She has committed to serving minimally processed food, free of artificial colors and flavors, with most food prepared on site from fresh ingredients.

No meals are available for purchase for Friday dinner or Monday lunch at Redwood Glen; please provide these meals on your own.

Check-in Time

Check-in at Redwood Glen begins Friday, September 2, at 3 p.m. New campers are highly encouraged to come as early as possible to set up camp before dark. Greeters will be located near the camp entrance (in front of Shepherd Lodge) from 3 to 6 p.m. handing out packets and helping you find your site. If you arrive after 6 p.m. on Friday, you may pick up your packet from the box of packets in front of Shepherd Lodge. If you need assistance, a walkie-talkie will be available to contact the camp staff. If you do arrive late, please observe the 11 p.m. quiet rule for All-Church Camp.

Packet Contents

The packets you receive at camp contain your name tag, meal selections, camp schedule, and a camp map.

Think Green

Please help Redwood Glen by bringing reusable containers instead of using disposables (i.e. bring a mug for morning hot drinks instead of using the disposable cups), as well as using environmentally friendly materials and recycling whenever possible. Even bringing your own water supply can lessen our impact on Redwood Glen’s resources.

Conserve Water!

We are always the largest group each year at Redwood Glen and tend to put a strain on the camp’s septic system. You can help by making showers as short as possible (3 minutes maximum) and using the port-a-potties instead of flush toilets. These small but important steps will ensure that we are good stewards of our time at Redwood Glen.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact us. We look forward to seeing all of you at camp!
