Becoming Green

Ginna Traina receiving Green Certificate From Sunnyvale Mayor HendricksHow better to love God’s creation than to care for it?

Sunnyvale Presbyterian Church was honored as a Green Business at the Sunnyvale City Council meeting on April 9 by going beyond the minimal compliance environmental protection regulations, and has for many years adopted environmentally sound practices to protect the earth as it relates to water conservation, solid and hazardous waste reduction and pollution prevention.

We've implemented lighting updates and installed solar panels. Our water conservation includes using timers, installing low flush toilets and flow restrictors on all faucets. All campus kitchens and classrooms participate in the city's food scrap program, and campus wide use of non-hazardous chemicals.
